Campbells Creek is located on the Midland Highway on the outskirts of Castlemaine. Another area of goldmining in the region, Campbells Creek was also a noted fruit growing area of the early days of settlement. Campbell was an early squatter who has been immortalised in the town's name and the creek that winds its way through the township to join the Loddon River at Guildford.
Campbells Creek has B&B’s, art studios, a pub, a seriously large second hand book store, and is home to the Castlemaine Cemetery which attracts many of those people tracing their ancestry.
